City Walk Bham is open daily from 7 AM to 7 PM for personal use. City Walk Bham is monitored around the clock by a state-of-the-art security system and by security personnel on patrol.

Skatepark Hours: Monday – Friday noon to 10 pm. Saturday and Sunday 9 am to 10 pm.

Lake Park Playground: Daily 7 am to 7pm

Roller Rink: Daily 7 am to 10 pm

Pickleball Courts: Daily 7 am to 10 pm for the courts on the east end of City Walk, from 7 am to 7 pm for the courts on the west end of City Walk.

The Barkery at City Walk BHAM Dog Park: We are anticipating the final equipment for the dog park to be in soon. The targeted opening date is the 1st week of September.

  • All programmed or group use of City Walk Bham space requires a permit. This includes any type of vending, food service, food trucks, selling of any good or services, or organized group activity.
  • Pets are welcome! However, your pet must be leashed at all times unless inside the dog park and pets are not allowed inside the skate park.
  • Please clean up after your pets
  • Please place all trash in appropriate bins
  • Parents, please monitor your children
  • No smoking
  • No wading, jumping or swimming in water features
  • No lying on benches
  • Children under the age of 16 should be supervised at all times while on the property
  • No unauthorized music playing, radios, or broadcasting
  • No panhandling or begging
  • No placement of stakes, posts, or signs
  • No grilling, cooking, or serving of food without permit
  • No camping, sleeping, or overnight stays
  • No firearms or weapons of any kind
  • No picking of flowers or other landscape materials
  • No motorized vehicles of any kind
  • No selling any kind of goods or services without permit
  • Alcohol is allowed in designated areas, only when purchased from permitted vendors or during a special event
  • Skateboarding allowed only in designated areas


The courts are a non-supervised use-at-your-own risk facility. Please place all trash in appropriate bins. Parents, please monitor your children at all times

  • Pickleball courts will be open daily from 7 am to 9 pm
  • During peak times when courts are full and players are waiting to play:
  • Court time will be shared equally
  • No singles games, drilling or lessons
  • Waiting players will place their paddle in the Paddle Organizer
  • Groups can stay together but might have to wait additional time
  • Games limited to 11 – win by 2
  • Exit court immediately and return to waiting outside the courts
  • Place paddles in Paddle Organizer to play again
  • Limit warm-up time to three (3) minutes
  • If courts are not full, a foursome or singles can stay on the court
  • Tennis shoes or soft-soled shoes only
  • Courts for pickleball use only (scan the QR code for pickleball rules)

Not allowed on courts:

  • Personal bags
  • Spectators
  • Smoking/Vaping
  • Glass Bottles
  • Bicycles/Skateboards/Roller Skates/Scooters

Events scheduled by City Walk Bham have priority over open play.

Rules & Regulations

  • City Walk Skatepark is a supervised facility and is only open for skating during posted hours of operation.
  • The BJCC, ALDOT, Action Park Alliance, including all associates and employees, assume no liability for loss, damage, or any kind of injury or accident to people or property.
  • Skating and riding under the best conditions is a high-risk activity.
  • Make good choices and be responsible for your safety as well as the safety of others.
  • If you participate, you accept the risk of injury.
  • A signed waiver form is required through For riders under the age of 18, a parent or legal guardian must be present to sign the waiver form and provide a valid ID.
  • Daily check-in is required during posted hours of operation.
  • The skate park is for skateboards, bikes, in-line and quad skaters, and non-foldable scooters only. No motorized vehicles, bikes, or scooters will be allowed.
  • All participants are required to wear proper attire and safety gear, including closed-toe shoes, shirts, pads, and wrist supports. Helmets are mandatory.
  • Children under the age of 12 should be supervised by an adult.
  • Spectators must remain away from the riding area.
  • Do not proceed into any area until clear of other participants.
  • Keep the riding area clean.
  • The facility will be closed when the surface is wet or during inclement weather conditions.
  • Portable obstacles or materials (ramps, jumps, rails, etc.) may not be used.
  • Respect other park users and refrain from using amplified sound, profane or abusive language or gestures.
  • No pets, weapons, firearms, alcohol, drugs or use of tobacco products of any kind.
  • No food, drinks, glass containers or other breakable objects inside the skate park.
  • The BJCC and Action Park Alliance must approve any organized special event.
  • Report any unsafe conditions or any problems with users or spectators to the Action Park Alliance staff immediately.
  • Skate within your abilities. Know your skill level.
  • Failure to adhere to skate park and facility regulations can result in loss of facility privileges and/or citation

The Barkery @ City Walk Bham Dog Park

Park Rules & Regulations

** The Barkery is not yet open. Supply chain issues have delayed the shipment of the remaining equipment for the park. We are targeting the opening of The Barkery for the 1st week of September. **

The Barkery @ City Walk BHAM is a membership-only off-leash dog park. The membership agreement and rules for membership are required to help us make sure our entire canine community is safe while enjoying The Barkery @ City Walk BHAM.

The Daily Pass/Membership Agreement and Release of Liability release City Walk Bham from any liability to you, your dog(s), or anybody accompanying you, and applies to all visits to City Walk Bham and all City Walk Bham facilities, including use of the City Walk Dog Park and self-service wash stations, for the duration of your Membership. All dogs must have a one-time pass or a City Walk Bham membership to be allowed into the City Walk Dog Park.

Dogs must be spayed or neutered.

Dogs must be current (up-to-date) on vaccinations including Rabies, DHPP/DHLPPC, and Bordetella. Dog parents must provide documentation to City Walk Bham in order to be granted a one-time pass or City Walk Bham membership.

Puppies must be older than 4 months of age and must show that they are current on puppy vaccinations.

Dogs over 1 year old must be spayed or neutered. No dogs in heat!

No children under the age of 16 are allowed in the off-leash areas. NO EXCEPTIONS!

Children must be supervised outside the off-leash areas at all times. Playing is at your own risk!

Maximum of 2 dogs per member unless special permission is granted at management’s discretion.

City Walk Bham is NON-SMOKING – both inside and outside.

Each member is responsible for cleaning up their dog’s waste. Waste stations are stocked with plastic bags and available for your use. Ruff Rangers will monitor and assist when and as needed. However, outside of City Walk Dog Park, dog owners must immediately bag and dispose of any dog waste.

Member understands and agrees that in bringing their dog(s) to City Walk Bham, CITY WALK BHAM management and staff have relied on the member’s representations and warranties that their dog is in good health and has not harmed or shown aggressive or threatening behavior toward any person or any other dog.

Aggressive behavior will not be tolerated. Member is solely responsible for the behavior of their dog(s) and must break up any disturbances or any fights involving their dog(s). Any dog displaying disruptive or aggressive behavior may be asked to leave or required to be on-leash per CITY WALK BHAM management and staff’s discretion.

City Walk Bham is not responsible for any injury, illness, or damage caused on our premises, and all Members are legally and financially responsible for their dog(s).

Constant dog barking can be disruptive. Please keep your dog’s barking under control.

Please open only one gate at a time, and be careful not to allow other dogs to enter or exit with you.

Member agrees to keep their dog(s) leashed when not inside designated off-leash areas (such off-leash areas, the “CITY WALK BHAM Dog Park”). Member may release their dog(s) from leash inside the CITY WALK BHAM Dog Park but must remain on the premises of City Walk Bham while their dog(s) is (are) at the CITY WALK BHAM Dog Park. Abandoning dogs is prohibited and is punishable by law. Violators are subject to revocation of their membership, may be permanently banned from using the CITY WALK BHAM Dog Park, and reported to the City of Birmingham, as appropriate.

No food – for humans or dogs – is permitted inside the CITY WALK BHAM Dog Park.

No glass bottles or containers are permitted on the premises.

The CITY WALK BHAM Dog Park closes due to severe weather (rain or snow) or when emergency maintenance is required. Additionally, the CITY WALK BHAM Dog Park hours may vary due to special events. In all cases, City Walk Bham reserves the right to close the facility or amend its hours of operation at any time without notice; however, City Walk Bham will endeavor to notify its members via our website, social media, and/or email.

City Walk Bham Management and Staff have the right to refuse service to any customer for any reason.

Participation at City Walk Bham is voluntary and at your own risk. We reserve the right to temporarily remove or permanently restrict any person or dog(s) from the premises for behavior that is potentially harmful to our patrons, staff, or other dogs. It is your sole responsibility to ensure the safety of your dog(s), your guests, and yourself. Your Membership may be suspended or revoked at any time if it is found that you have jeopardized the safety of other people or dogs at City Walk Bham.

Strike Policy

Dogs who are exhibiting inappropriate behaviors that are considered disruptive to the peace in the park can be given a strike.

Examples include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Aggression Toward Other Dogs
  • Aggression Toward People
  • Resource Guarding
  • Toy Possessiveness
  • Excessive Barking
  • Excessive Humping
  • Lunging/Snapping
  • Barrier Reactivity
  • Hyperactivity
  • Redirection of Anxiety

Humans who do not abide by park rules or are exhibiting disruptive behaviors can also be given a strike. Examples include but are not limited to the following:

  • Striking/Kicking a Dog
  • Violent disciplinary action toward dog.
  • Running or kicking dog toys.
  • Not paying attention to your dog.
  • Being loud/yelling that resorts in fearfulness of dogs.
  • Neglect to clean up after your dog.
  • Sitting on the dog ONLY equipment.
  • Bringing more dogs than can be monitored safely/effectively by the owner.

City Walk Bham abides by a 3-strike system. After a second strike you may be asked to participate in a training program of your choice and return to the park with documentation from that dog trainer. However, in event that a “substantial event” (to be left to the discretion of the park’s staff, ex. critical injuries to dogs or humans) occurs, this may be subject to immediate and possibly permanent removal from the park.

Strikes are given out by attendants who have witnessed the incident and approved by Management. You will be provided with a strike form that you must read and initial. Strikes are not issued without informing the owner before your visit to the park has concluded.

*PLEASE NOTE* that after receiving a strike you may be asked to leave the park for the day.


Free parking is available along the perimeters of City Walk Bham. Metered/Pay parking is available in other areas around City Walk Bham.
